American Overlord Association
HONORING THE AMERICAN UNITS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE INVASION OF FRANCE ON JUNE 6, 1944
The American Overlord Association is a living history group that honors the American units that participated in the D-Day invasion. No single company, battalion, or division deserves the credit for the success of the invasion. Movies, miniseries, TV shows, books, and magazines tell many tales of the heroism of a select few, but many of the stories are left untold or are lost due to the participants losing their lives. Over 56,000 men came onto the beaches that day. Over 17,000 paratroopers and glider troops landed inland. The success of the mission is a tribute to all of those involved.
The American Overlord Association allows its members to represent any of the D-Day units as long as they are willing to represent them properly and have a basic knowledge of that unit. We encourage members to read and research as much as they can so that we can honor these great men.
